A Second Chance at Life is a newly developed, grassroots organization located in St. Louis, Missouri. We seek to assist individuals, families and community members who have been severely impacted by the loss of a loved one due to induced poisoning or suffering from substance use disorders.

Mission

To significantly improve mental health and well-being of those affected by substance use disorder through education, support, housing, and advocacy.

Vision

A world without substance use disorders and illicit drug distributors.

These presentations are to bring the students, faculty/staff and administrators to at minimum a working knowledge of the dangers of Fentanyl, opioids and substance use disorders.

Organized events geared to transform perception towards substance use disorders and educate the public on the dangers of illicit drug use. Also to offer resources to those afflicted with substance use disorders.

To work hand in hand with other Non-Profit organizations to combine efforts and bring aid to the opioid crisis by advocacy, education and legislative change working to remove the stigma towards substance use disorders and offering support to those that have lost loved ones.

To actively work with others and support laws to fight illicit drug trafficking as well as laws designed to give aid for treatment of substance use disorders. Also to establish more strict monitoring of treatment centers and sober living homes.

To purchase and operate sober living homes staffed with life coach personnel that are there daily to teach a life skills program equipping the residents with a set of real-world expectations and skills designed to empower them and prepare them for the global arena of self-sufficiency. This will involve teaching them how to create structure in their lives, help set goals to meet day-to-day expectations and become more productive and responsible members of society. Also, as an integral part of these life skills coaching there will be mental health workers to aid in underlying issues.

The lotus flower signifies a journey from darkness and pain to creation and rebirth. Our purple lotus flower explicitly signifies spiritual awakening, faithfulness and purity. The color purple is used to create mental balance and stability. It is also proven to be emotionally uplifting and calming to the mind and nerves. The color purple is the national color to symbolize recovery and is used for opioid substance use disorder awareness. The color orange is the national color for healing and is traditionally a symbol of optimism, happiness and enthusiasm. The circle of glass shards surrounding the flower with an opening signifies breaking free of the cycle of substance use.
